Mese Crystal Fragments can be crafted from mese crystals and can in turn be used to craft a full mese crystal again. There are no actual uses in vanilla Minetest Game. When played without mods, mese crystal fragments are useless.
The main reason why this item exists is to provide an additional crafting item which mods can use.
