Welcome MT Visitors.
If you already know about Minetest and you'd like to visit some Final MT worlds, this page tells you where to go and what features to try.
#001) Program.
For the moment, any desktop or mobile client should work to visit Final MT. This includes both MT4 and MT5.
The main oddity that you might notice is that people using different clients might see each other as floating one node higher or lower. We think that this will happen mostly if there are still MT4 clients out there in the wild.
#002) Media loads.
You'll notice connections to a media cache. This speeds up loads but the first few loads may be slow regardless.
#003) Worlds overview.
There are about 30 to 50 Final MT worlds total depending on what is counted. Only about a dozen are presently online but the others are preserved.
We have worlds that nobody else is still able to run. This includes worlds from back when clouds and water were blocks and building materials.
We have Kray's World and C55's own world from 2011, the earliest worlds from some of the other MT figures, and, perhaps the peak of early MT, Redcrab.
OldCoder specific worlds include:
- the original Lord of the Test
- the original Moontest
- Skydoom, probably the oldest continuously operating major world
- Legends of Dragons, with some amazing Kiwi builds
- the most stable Australia
- Meowtest, created for Sfan5
- Wasteland, a proper zombie apocalypse sewer spider world
- Bucket City, with the most accurate Angkor Wat that exists
- MustTest
and many more.
We created the modern version of Block City when the original was destroyed. Edgy's version is a fork. We have the originals or snapshots of other worlds. Also a complete copy of DAConcepts and all of the worlds and mods there.
#004) Final MT git site.
If you fiddle with MT code, either core or mod, you may wish to visit:
This is the only MT git site remotely of its size. It's also the only site that still has the majority of all mods that ever existed regardless of ragequit.
We think that we have all of Trolltest ContentDB as it stood two years ago. This includes the content that was purged when the Trolltesters deprecated backwards compatibility. It also includes content that wasn't in git to begin with. We converted it.
It's time to update the git site again as it only covers about 2011 to 2022. However, the site does host mods and other code that no longer exists anywhere else.
#005) Server lists.
Presently, most Final MT worlds aren't on server lists and therefore are empty.
To be clear, after the events of 2017, our goal has been to aim to be useful in a different context. One example may be viewed at the following link:
https://oldcoder.org/thankyourobert.mp4
To visit Final MT worlds, in general, you'll need to type the hostname and port into the right place in the following format:
chillcorner.org:30016
#006: Places to visit.
Before visiting a world, try to contact OldCoder. Request privileges so that you can see everything. He may offer creative, fly, noclip, and other privs. Note: This offer is only for adults.
If you visit MustTest or Legends of Dragons, you'll be able to try out the latest mods and features. Those two worlds still have, additionally, a few builders on them, mostly middle school age. You can ask the builders what they think of the worlds.
World: Legends of Dragons Host: laclin.com Port: 30088
World: MustTest Host: chillcorner.org Port: 30016
Try these tourist attractions in Legends of Dragons!
/bremen /cliff /megamall /mothership /vedic
MustTest is simpler due to being built more by grade-schoolers. However, try these teleports there:
/bigcat /birdcity /cozycrystal
One of the most significant worlds in MT history is Redcrab. The world is notable for three reasons:
- creativity back when mods were limited
- one of the true collaborative effort adult worlds
- rescued from destruction by a team working against the clock
Redcrab is temporarily at:
World: Redcrab Host: laclin.com Port: 30013
Try the following teleports in Redcrab. Near many of them, you'll see travelnets. Try the travelnets.
/spawn /center /coffeecity /modesto /rctree /skydining /tulune /undercrab
Other worlds: Must see Nexus of Worlds. To be added.
#007) Features to discuss or try.
Most of these should work in MustTest or LODragons.
/online command: To see who's online, use the /online command. Sample output is shown here. Note: The list doesn't include people who are only in IRC.
Skins system: Press i for inventory. Click on little man. We have a nice curated and ethnically diverse skins collection.
CoderSkins was the first MT Skins system to support 64x64. Also the first to fully integrate 3D Armor.
Costumes: We have costumes that you can put on over regular skins without changing skins.
The spacesuit and the covid mask are variations of costumes. Both have actual effects. In some worlds, for example, you must put on the spacesuit to survive in outer space.
To put on or take off a costume, you wield it and left-click.
Fun profanity filter: Try to use profanity in MT chat.
Don't need to specify mods: In //set, /se [spawn entity], /giveme, and other commands, you can often omit the mod part. For example:
/giveme beetlejuice
On a separate note, Unified Foods can juice anything. Grind up bugs and you'll get beetlejuice. 1980s humor.
Mobs: Final MT aguably has one of the best mobsets in existence. Ask OldCoder to go over the mobs.
Unified Foods: This mod can also spawn foods as craftitems, as placeable sprites, as regular nodes, or as mobs.
Try /giveme taco and then place the taco by left-click on ground. The taco should run away to avoid becoming lunch.
Multiple homes: Depending on the world, you can set and teleport to up to 8 or 16 homes.
WorldEdit: CoderEdit, our WorldEdit, is able to save and load builds that Trolltest and Maksym's Test simply can't. It can also handle some large areas much faster.
Advanced shout revocation: In some worlds, if shout is revoked, it isn't clear to the revoked player or to others what is happening. In Final MT worlds, shout revocation works like this:
For the first few times that a revoked player tries to speak, a message explaining the revocation appears in game chat instead of whatever he or she tries to say.
After that, speech is disabled.
resizeme: In some worlds, you can do this:
/resizeme small /resizeme normal /resizeme big /resizeme 0.8 # can use a decimal number
ranks: We have about 100 ranks such as Doctor Parent, Emo Boy, and Fish Expert.
CoderSea: Final MT worlds optionally make the sea more interesting. There are glowing objects to light the sea floor and that can be mined plus a range of sea life including seahorse, jellyfish, lobster, and others. Some worlds include large dinosaur era sea creatures as well.
Jukebox: Try this one in MustTest. Do this:
/giveme ocjukebox:box # place the jukebox /giveme disc_01 # right-click disc into the jukebox # right-click again to stop playing # try other disc numbers from 01 to 10
Other toys: If you're curious, these are some of the other toys we made from 2023 to 2024. Not a complete list.
/giveme babybottle /giveme bear_panda # plushie /giveme cattreats /giveme cat_orange # plushie /giveme cellphone /giveme cereal01 # Can also try 02, 03, 04 /giveme comb /giveme dino_trex # plushie /giveme espalette # eyeshadow palette /giveme gloreo # no connection to any trademark /giveme pacifier /giveme plushies:fox # need full name for this one /giveme shampoo /giveme soap
and, regrettably, I fell asleep right here.
(start of sleep)
